I'm finding pockets of peace everywhere I pay attention. I didn't realize how much of my life was consumed by opportunities for peace.
I've shifted from viewing peace as something that was reserved for certain experiences and lifestyles, to something I contain within myself.
Peace is in you, it is not external.
It's in the simple moments. It's in your standing down from a power struggle with your spouse. It's in your gentle tone with your toddler who just dumped his entire Lego set in the middle of the hallway. It's in your warm morning coffee that has you curling your toes and snuggling up in your chair.
Peace is in pockets, where you pay attention. You'll miss it if you move too fast. You'll miss it if you act on impulses.
So then, what does it look like to prioritize peace? Denying yourself opportunities to disrupt your own peace. Don't make that call that will open pandora's box. Don't drop your calm when someone slights you. Deny self-sabotage.
I'm finding peace in every pocket of my day. Re-shifting my focus from what is temporary to the eternal things. It is a choice to pay attention to the peaceful moments in your life. Days spent in awareness of your peace determine how peaceful your life will be.
